Tottenham are in danger of losing key players after the departure of manager Harry Redknapp, according to the Independant
Last summer Luka Modric was convinced by his manager and chairman Daniel Levy to stay at Tottenham for one more season, after being courted by London rivals Chelsea. The promise of the Champions League appeared to be the bargaining tool used but despite finishing fourth the North London side did not qualify for the competition – thanks to Chelsea winning the tournament. Manchester United now seem to be interested in the Croatian playmaker.
Concerns over Welshman Gareth Bale leaving have been high for a while as well and ESPN are reporting that his agent has confirmed the lack of Champions League football next season is a ‘clear problem’ but has denied reports that Barcelona have a bid in for the left sided player.
Current favourites to replace Redknapp are former Blues boss Andre Villas-Boas and Everton manager David Moyes. But French media are reporting that Laurent Blanc is also in the frame. However the main concern for Tottenham now is to convince their top stars to stay whilst they find a new manager.
