Tottenham linked to Seedorf move

Tottenham Hotspur could make a surprise move for former Netherlands, Real Madrid and Inter midfielder Clarence Seedorf, who is a free agent after leaving Milan this summer, the Daily Mail has reported.

Seedorf, who is working as a BBC pundit during Euro 2012, left the San Siro side after 10 years in red and black, has been strongly linked to a move to Brazil. Seedorf was born in the small South American nation of Suriname, a former Dutch colony, and the Mail says he has long harboured a desire to play in Brazil.

A move to Botafogo had appeared close after Seedorf’s representatives were in Brazil recently, but with offers from across the world, including the United States’ MLS, lucrative proposals from the Middle East and China and interest from clubs in Europe, Seedorf’s next step in unclear. Tottenham are now said to have entered the race to sign the 36-year-old.
