Tottenham ready to let Pienaar return to Everton if the price is right

Tottenham Hotspur will allow Steven Pienaar to return to Everton on a full-time basis but only if David Moyes comes up with an offer Harry Redknapp feels is acceptable, the Liverpool Echo has reported.

Redknapp is said to be adamant that Pienaar will not return to Goodison Park unless the deal is right for Tottenham, despite understanding and accepting that the South African only wants to play for the Toffees. Pienaar returned to the club he left in January 2011 on loan a year later after pleading with Redknapp to sanction the deal as the transfer window came to a close.

Pienaar was unable to dislodge Gareth Bale from the left of Tottenham’s midfield but on his return to Everton went straight into the side in that position, resuming his partnership with left-back Leighton Baines as if he had never been away.

Tottenham are reportedly holding out for around double the £3m they originally paid for Pienaar, as the midfielder has more than two years remaining on his contract having entered the last six months of his deal at Everton when he first moved to White Hart Lane.
