Two-year deal for Vilanova

Tito Vilanova has agreed a two-year deal to succeed Pep Guardiola at Barcelona, according to Mundo Deportivo.

The 42-year-old was chosen by the Catalan side take over from Guardiola, following his decision to step down from his role at the end of last season.

And reports now suggest that Vilanova’s agent, Josep Maria Orobitg, has reached an agreement with the Barca board to tie his client down at the Camp Nou until 2014.

The Blaugrana are believed to be against the idea of offering Guardiola’s former assistant a one-year rolling contract, which the ex-Barca head coach favoured.

Vilanova is now expected to be officially unveiled at the end of this week.
