Villas-Boas keen on Tottenham role

Former Chelsea manager Andre Villas-Boas is believed to be interest in the vacant Tottenham Hotspur job and has now become one of the front-runners, according to Sky Sports.

The 34-year-old has been out of management since his Chelsea career was brought to an early end after a poor start to the season, though he still remains a highly rated manager in football and has recently spoken of his desire to return to management.

Sky Sports sources understand Villas-Boas is interested in the Tottenham Hotspur job after Harry Redknapp’s dismissal earlier in the week, and although he holds an interest there has been no talks between himself and the club at this moment in time.

Villas-Boas’ ill-fated Chelsea reign lasted just six months before he was sacked, but it seems he has no problem taking over at Chelsea’s fierce rivals if talks were to take place.
