Arsenal forward Campbell set for Betis loan

Joel Campbell is set to leave Arsenal for a second season on loan, ESPN has reported. The Costa Rica forward spent last season playing in France with Lorient but will join Spanish side Real Betis for the forthcoming campaign.

Campbell, 20, joined Arsenal last summer from Saprissa in his homeland but has not yet played a game for the Gunners as he does not qualify for a work permit. In order to keep the striker fresh and playing enough games to develop further, Arsene Wenger first loaned Campbell to Ligue 1 and will now send the player to Spain for further experience.

Last season Campbell scored three goals in 25 appearances for Lorient as the club finished 17th in the table, one place and one point above the relegation zone. In his international career thus far Campbell has netted six goals in 14 games, including a goal against Euro 2012 winners Spain in a 2-2 draw between the countries.
