Van Persie has been the subject of much speculation throughout the summer as his Arsenal contract winds closer to expiry next summer, with a number of clubs, including Arsenal’s Premier League rivals Manchester City, monitoring the situation closely. Manager Arsene Wenger has spoken of his desire to keep van Persie at the club but it is not yet known what the striker’s next move will be.
