Oscar, 20, is an attacking midfielder for the Brazilian side, and has netted an impressive four goals in nine appearances, bringing him to the attention of Europe’s top clubs. However, it appears Roman Abramovich has sealed the move ahead of London rivals Tottenham, who were also reportedly interested in the Brazilian.
Oscar joins a number of talented attacking midfielders who are able to play either centrally or on the wings at Chelsea – Eden Hazard, Marko Marin, and Kevin De Bruyne have all joined this Summer, and will compete for places alongside Frank Lampard, Yossi Benayoun, Florent Malouda and Juan Mata.
Oscar has made six appearances for his country Brazil, scoring one goal, and scored a hat-trick in their Under 20 World Cup final in 2011.
