Chelsea’s Belgium international midfielder Kevin De Bruyne will be sent out on loan for the second time in his short Blues career, with Werder Bremen the likely destination, according to the Daily
The 21-year-old Belgian was signed from Genk in January for around £7m, agreeing a five-and-a-half year deal with the London club, however he was immediately sent back to Belgium to finish the season.
De Bruyne has featured in both Chelsea’s games in their pre-season tour of the United States but with the signings of Eden Hazard and Marko Marin, he knows his chances of regular football at Chelsea will be few.
According to the Daily Mail, Bundelsiga side Bremen have been lined up as candidates to take the winger on loan for a season, where he can continue his development in a competitive league.
Speaking after appearing for Chelsea against Paris Saint-Germain, he said: “For me, it is important to be playing. If that is not going to happen at Chelsea, perhaps it is better to go to another club and get some games.”
De Bruyne is thought to not be the only Belgian earmarked for a loan move, as Roman Lukaku looks set to join Fulham on a season-long loan to gain first-team experience, despite scoring a brace against Seattle Sounders last week.
