Man Utd on alert over Sneijder comments

Manchester United are on alert after Inter Milan coach Andrea Stramaccioni admitted the club would listen to offers for their playmaker, Wesley Sneijder.

ESPN have reported that the Serie A side do want to keep the Dutch midfielder but they would consider letting him go should the right deal come along. He said:

“Sneijder is fundamental from a technical and tactical point of view, but I can’t say that he is not for sale. That would be an abuse of my power. I would only ask the president to think carefully should an important offer arrive.”

It was thought that last summer the Premier League runners-up were close to signing Sneijder but the deal fell through after contract issues between the club and player.

It is already well documented that Sir Alex Ferguson is interested in adding more fresh faces to his squad in the coming weeks after already bringing in Shinji Kagawa and Nick Powell.

It was though that Luka Modric was top of that list but Real Madrid have seemingly pulled off a transfer for the Croatian so now Ferguson may turn his attention to the Inter Milan star once again.
