Amid reported interest from Manchester United in teenage sensation Lucas Moura, Sir Alex Ferguson may have part with more than £30m to sign him, reports the Manchester
The 19-year-old Brazilian midfielder has attracted interest from a host of European clubs such as Inter and Real Madrid, however reports are suggesting Ferguson is very keen on the player who is part of Brazil’s Olympic squad.
Moura’s parent club Sao Paulo are holding out for a big-money deal, though the player’s contract allows him a 20% fee of the final transfer fee but this clause increases to 30% from the 1st August – with any potential bid needing to include this.
Sir Alex Ferguson is reluctant to part with £30m for a player at such a young stage in his footballing career and having never played outside Brazil, he could represent a fairly large gamble for Manchester United.
Lucas made his debut for Sao Paulo in 2010 and since then has scored 14 goals in just 59 appearances – form which has prompted him to be labelled as one the emerging talents of Brazil’s new generation.
