Manchester United target James Rodriguez has played down talk of a move away from Portuguese club Porto this summer, according to Goal.com.
However Rodriguez has dismissed speculation of a summer move to Old Trafford, insisting he remains loyal to Porto as he enters his third season with the club after already scoring 19 goals in 66 appearances at the Estadio do Dragao.
Speaking to assembled journalists he said: “I want to stay here, Porto are a big club and they are my present. My only thought is playing for Porto and I am also thinking about what is best for the club.”
Last summer the player signed a new five year contract with the club and his release claused was increased to €45million, and it had been rumoured Manchester United were preparing to make an approach for Rodriguez, however a move now looks unlikely given the loyalty shown by the player.
The talented winger is also pleased that fellow Colombian Jackson Martinez signed for Porto last week from Mexican side Jaguares, telling journalists: “He is an excellent player, a great goal scorer, I hope that he will have a good season.”
