The 22-year-old Allen was one of Swansea’s most impressive performers in their debut Premier League campaign last season, and the Welsh side have stressed they would not welcome an offer from any interested party. A fee of £15m has been mentioned.
As part of the agreement taking Rodgers from the Liberty Stadium to Anfield a 12-month moratorium on Liverpool signing Swansea players was imposed. However, the Mirror notes that if Swansea were to accept a bid from another club for any player – including Allen – Liverpool would be free to pursue the player as well.
Allen is set to be part of the Team GB squad for the London Olympics, one of a number of Swansea players included by Stuart Pearce.
