Torres said: “I would love to win a Premier League. Hopefully it will happen this year, but for sure we will be challenging for it.” Last season Chelsea finished way off the pace in sixth, 25 points behind the top two, Manchester United and Manchester City, who finished level on points with City inching the title by a margin of eight goals.

Torres pointed to the razor-thin difference between City and United in the title race and the fact that Chelsea could only finish sixth in the league but still managed to win the Champions League as further evidence.
