Tottenham are chasing Russian striker Alan Dzagoev after he impressed at Euro 2012 this summer.
According to ESPN
Dzagoev’s father and agent, Tariel Dzagoev, has already spoken about the possibility of his son leaving current club, CSKA Moscow, but is airing on the side of caution following other big moves to England which have proved unsuccessful.
He said: “I don’t know if he will stay at CSKA. There are offers, from Spurs and other foreign clubs. But I am telling him not to rush. Yuri Zhirkov went to Chelsea and sat on the bench.”
Zhirkov, as mentioned by Tariel Dzagoev, only made 29 league appearances for Chelsea after his £18 million move from CSKA Moscow in 2009 and this will clearly be a big influence on the front man’s eventual destination.
Alan Dzagoev currently has 26 league goals in 102 appearances for CSKA after signing for the club in 2008. He finished third in the golden boot race at this summer’s European Championships getting 3 goals in 254 minutes of football – making 7 goals in total for his country after 23 caps.
