Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has ruled out a move for French midfielder Yann M’Vila, as he looks to rely on Jack Wilshere and Abou Diaby, reports the Daily
The 22-year-old has long been linked with a move to the Premier League and reports are suggesting he will leave his current club Rennes in search of Champions League football, but Arsenal have ruled themselves out of a move for the player.
Wenger is pinning his hopes on the fitness of Diaby and Wilshere, who when fit will make a move for M’Vila undesirable, though the latter has received several set-backs in his injury flight and is just regaining match fitness.
Inter have shown an interest in the French international over the past months and were the only serious challengers to his signature as Arsenal were thought to be in pole position to sign him.
Speaking about the player, Wenger, who is over-seeing his side’s pre-season tour of Asia said: “We wait for [Abou] Diaby and [Jack] Wilshere. When he is fit, Diaby is the first name on the French team sheet.”
M’Vila’s injury meant he did not gain the exposure his club would have liked at Euro 2012 but with Arsenal now ending their reported pursuit of the player, Inter are favourites for his signature.
