Wigan stand firm over Moses price despite Chelsea interest

Wigan Athletic owner Dave Whelan will not buckle over his demand that any club interested in signing Victor Moses pays £10m, with Chelsea set to make a new offer for the player in the region of £7m, the Daily Mail has reported.

Chelsea’s bid will include add-ons to raise the price closer to Whelan’s valuation but the Mail claims Whelan will tell the Champions League winners he has no intention of lowering the fee required to end Moses’ two-and-a-half years at the DW Stadium. The Nigeria international moved to Wigan from Crystal Palace in January 2010.

In his time at Wigan Moses has thus far made 79 appearances for Roberto Martinez’s side, scoring nine goals. Last season Moses featured in 39 games for the Latics, getting on the score sheet nine times, as Wigan staged a remarkable comeback to avoid relegation and confirm their place in next season’s Premier League.
