Willian fury at being denied Chelsea move

Shakhtar’s Brazilian midfielder Willian has spoken of his disappointment at being denied a big-money move to Champions League winners Chelsea.

The Sun reports the Ukrainian club rejected a £25.5m bid for the 23-year-old from the Stamford Bridge club, with Willian clearly frustrated the bid wasn’t accepted.

“I’m really annoyed that the board didn’t let me go. It would have been good for me and for the club too,” Willian stated.

Willian is one of a number of big-money Brazilians Chelsea have been linked with this summer ,with Porto’s Hulk and Internacional starlet Oscar both on their radar. Indeed, it is believed Oscar has completed a medical at Stamford Bridge and is on the verge of joining the club for £25m.

However, Willian states that despite an imminent deal for Oscar, it does not mean Chelsea will not continue pursuing him.

“Chelsea had already reached an agreement regarding Oscar when they made that last offer to sign me. I’m sure it won’t be a problem as we are different kinds of players. He is more like a playmaker and I am more like an attacking midfielder,” he explained.

Having already added Eden Hazard to their squad for a fee of around £32m, Chelsea are keen to bridge the gap to the Manchester clubs and launch another assault on the Premier League title.
