Manchester City are making ‘more noise’ according to ex-Manchester United striker Dwight Yorke, and he warns his old club it will be a tough task to recapture the league title, reports ESPN.
Yorke said: “I think [United] will be bitterly disappointed in the way City snatched the Premier League title away from them this season, but knowing United, it will make them stronger and more determined more than anything else to regain it.”
The former Trinidad and Tobago international believes that the while City are the main rivals in United’s pursuit of the Premier League title, Chelsea will be contenders too. He added: “Chelsea have done remarkably well last season in winning the Champions League and the FA Cup and, for me, the Premier League title will be decided between those three teams.”
The 40-year-old, who only quit playing two years ago also, believes that Arsenal striker Robin van Persie should set up home at either of the Manchester clubs. “The city of Manchester is the place if you want to win something and it’s more a personal choice for him,” Yorke noted. He continued: “ He won’t go wrong in choosing either of those two teams in Manchester.”
With the start of the season less than four weeks away, Manchester United have been busier of the two teams with City yet to sign a player but the Blues have been linked with van Persie in recent days, though it is their Red rivals that have tabled a bid for the 28-year-old.
