Ancelotti wants Chelsea’s Cole at PSG

Carlo Ancelotti will try to tempt Chelsea full-back Ashley Cole into swapping the Stamford Bridge club for Paris Saint-Germain as the England international waits to be offered a new contract by the Champions League winners, the Daily Mirror has reported.

Cole’s current deal expires next summer and as yet there have been no talks over an extension. Ancelotti, who managed Chelsea between 2009 and 2011, is said to remain an admirer of the defender and keen to bring him to Ligue 1.

Chelsea insist they will open negotiations with Cole over a new contract before the end of August but the Mirror claims the delay has caused concern. Cole however is not looking to leave Chelsea but PSG hope to play on the past relationship between Cole and Ancelotti as well as preparing an attractive financial package.

Cole, who the Mirror claim has also been linked with a move to Manchester United this summer, has been at Chelsea since 2006, when he crossed London after starting his career with Arsenal.
