Arsenal have wrapped up the loan signing of Real Madrid midfielder Nuri Sahin, the
The Gunners were said to be keen on a stipulation that allowed them to sign Sahin permanently in 12 months’ time if the loan move was a success. Madrid however wanted that sum to be fixed at £14m in the contract that took Sahin to the Emirates Stadium, a figure Arsenal are said by the Mail to have initially baulked at. The newspaper does not reveal what the exact terms of the contract are, but claims there was a compromise reached.
Arsenal were said to have been so confident the Sahin transfer was to be completed by Monday that they had arranged a photo shoot with the Turkey international that had to be hastily cancelled when the issue of a buyout clause came up.
