Arsenal youngster Benik Afobe will join Championship side Bolton Wanderers, after impressing on loan at Reading last season, reports the Mirror.
The 19-year-old has previously had loans spells at Huddersfield Town and most recently Reading, and it’s believed that as many as six Championship clubs had expressed an interest in taking the England Under-19 star on loan for the coming campaign, though it appears Bolton Wanderers have secured a deal.
Boss Owen Coyle brought Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere to the Reebok on a similar loan deal in 2010, and the England international credits Bolton with kick-starting his career in the Premier League and Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger hopes Afobe will be as successful as Wilshere was.
Afobe has been featuring for Arsenal on their Pre-Season tour of Asia, however Arsenal are keen to allow the player to develop with another club outside of the Premier League, and the move will be sealed later this week.
Bolton Wanderers also said to be interested in Afobe’s team-mate Ryo Miyaichi, who enjoyed a brief loan spell with Owen Coyle’s side last season.
