Dimitar Berbatov is currently having a medical at Fulham after what has been a whirlwind of a 48 hours.
Reported by Sky
The 31-year-old was expected to sign for Fiorentina after the Serie A side had an offer accepted by Manchester United. But after a controversial 24 hours in which the attacker flew to Florence and had discussions with Juventus instead, he now seems to be staying in the Premier League after deciding he would rather stay in England.
It would be Berbatov’s second stint in London, the Bulgaria international came to this country to play for Tottenham in 2006 and played 70 league games for the club – scoring 27 – before leaving for Manchester United in 2008 for a deal worth £30 million.
He has played 108 games in the league for United since his arrival and has scored 48 times. But in the past two seasons he has found playing time limited following the arrival and emergence of Javier Hernandez and Danny Welbeck respectively. Robin van Persie’s arrival appeared to be the final nail in the coffin for his career in Manchester.
