The Champions League winners have already this summer had an offer of around £30m rejected for the 26-year-old. Porto are said to want closer to £40m before they consider selling. Porto, who the Mirror claim enjoy a difficult relationship with Chelsea, have even threatened to hold out for the full €100m dictated by Hulk’s release clause – that translates to over £78m.
Chelsea were confident of signing Hulk earlier in the summer until the Porto president upped his asking price, but with Manchester City now also waiting in the wings, Hulk has come out publically to confirm his intentions. “This could be the time for me to move, Hulk said, adding: “I would feel comfortable with moving clubs and the English league is one that appeals to me.”
Hulk was part of the Brazil U-23 side that claimed silver at the London Olympics on Saturday, coming off the bench as a first-half substitute in the 2-1 defeat to Mexico.
