Dembele eager to begin life at Tottenham

Tottenham Hotspur have completed the signing of Moussa Dembele from Fulham and the Belgian is eager to get going for his new team. Reported by the Press Association, the 25-year-old has been speaking about his delight at moving to a side of Spurs’ calibre and is looking forward to showing what he can do on the pitch.

He said: “I’m happy to join Spurs. It’s a fantastic club. You can see over the last few years that Spurs have played well. Everybody knows it’s a good team and a good club and that’s why I wanted to come here. The club have plans to do lots of good things and that’s why I want to be a part of it.

Dembele arrives at White Hart Lane following a two-year stint at London rivals Fulham. Whilst at Craven Cottage he played 62 league games for the club – finding himself playing in more of an attacking midfield role under Martin Jol, similar to the No. 10 position.

The Belgian international becomes Andre Villas-Boas’ fourth signing since arriving at the club in July, and more are possible before the transfer window shuts on Friday night.

However, the arrival of Dembele has increased speculation regarding Rafael van der Vaart. Hamburg are expected to make a late offer to bring the Dutch international back to the club.
