Fulham reject Dembele link with Real Madrid

Fulham have denied reports Belgian midfielder Moussa Dembele is set to move to Real Madrid, after his agent reported that the Spanish champions had made an approach for the player, reports ESPN.

The 25-year-old impressed for the London club last season, prompting suggestions the player could move away from Craven Cottage with Manchester United reportedly sharing Madrid’s interest in the Belgium International.

It had appeared that Dembele was close to leaving Fulham. His agent Jan De Visser told Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf: “Real Madrid have contacted us and asked about signing Moussa Dembele. They are not the first big club who have contacted us this summer.

Despite the suggestion from Dembele’s agent, Fulham have issued a statement regarding the availability of the midfielder. The club said: “We have not had any approaches for Moussa Dembele and none would be welcome.

The 2010 signing from AZ Alkmaar, Dembele has shone under Martin Jol in a more attack minded position and appeared for Fulham on 36 occasions last season.
