Chelsea midfielder Eden Hazard has enjoyed a fine start to his career in the Premier League but the Belgium international is not willing to stop there. On the eve of the European Super Cup ClubCall
The Blues will play La Liga side and Europa League holders Atletico Madrid on Friday evening in the showpiece match but Hazard has aims far beyond winning the Super Cup alone. Having impressed in his first few appearances in English football, Hazard now wants to experience the European stage with his new team – and hopes for a winning end to the campaign.
Hazard, who joined Chelsea from Lille in a £32m move this summer, acknowledged that retaining the Champions League is a tall order – one no team has ever managed to accomplish – but still felt that should be the goal of the club. He said: “It will be complicated as now we are the team to beat…We also know it will be difficult to win it twice in a row. For a club like Chelsea, the goal is to win the Champions League every year, even though we know it will be difficult.”
