Brendan Rodgers’ side appear to have leapfrogged Premier League rivals Arsenal in the race for the 23-year-old. It is reported that the Gunners were seeking a loan deal for Sahin but talks fell through after the London club expressed their want for an option in the contract that could see the Turkish international switch to the Emirates permanently at the end of the season.
The Turkey-born midfielder signed for Spanish giants Real Madrid from Bundesliga outfit Borussia Dortmund in 2011 but first-team appearances have been few and far between for the youngster.
