Liverpool will require £23m and a player – winger Adam Johnson – as part of any transfer that takes Daniel Agger away from Anfield and to Premier League champions Manchester City, the
Man City’s initial offer for the centre-back was substantially less than the fee Liverpool are said to be holding out for, with the Mirror claiming Roberto Mancini first sanctioned a £13m bid for the Denmark international. Liverpool are valuing Johnson at between £3m and £4m, taking the total package it would take to send Agger to City to around £27m.
