Liverpool’s Agger fears being forced into Man City move

Liverpool defender Daniel Agger has said he does not want to leave Anfield – but added he is worried the club might accept an offer for his services from Premier League champions Manchester City, the Daily Mirror has reported.

Agger revealed to reporters in Denmark that he cannot fathom wearing the colours of another English club but added that he feels there is a chance Liverpool will sell him anyway, if they believe it to be in the best interest of the club. City have been heavily linked with a move for the Danish international as Roberto Mancini is believed to be keen to strengthen his defence ahead of the new season.

A new tattoo Agger was seen sporting recently, the letters YNWA across his knuckles, was taken by some as a message sent to Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers regarding Agger’s commitment to the club. The letters stand for the Liverpool motto “You’ll Never Walk Alone” but Agger denied Rodgers was the intended target of his new artwork. Instead, the 27-year-old revealed the tattoo was in honour of everyone around the club, including the supporters and the people of Liverpool.
