Madrid make final offer to Tottenham for Modric

Real Madrid have made another offer for Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Luka Modric with the Daily Mirror claiming the Spanish side have told their Premier League counterparts that it will be their last for the Croatia international.

The bid is still said to fall short of the £40m price tag placed on Modric by Spurs chairman Daniel Levy. Madrid will offer around £30m for the 26-year-old but Levy has long insisted he will not accept anything below £40m, leaving the clubs still some way apart.

Jose Mourinho, the Real Madrid Coach, is understood to have contacted Levy personally in an effort to move the transfer along but as yet, Levy has not budged. Modric is thought to be growing frustrated with the stalemate and what he sees as Levy going back on his vow of a year ago to sell Modric this summer.

Tottenham however believe their verbal agreement with the Modric camp to sell the player only applies if their valuation is met, which has not yet happened.
