Premier League champions Manchester City have agreed a fee of £12m with Fiorentina for Serbia international Matija Nastasic, subject to a work permit, according to the the
City fully expect the work permit to come through, with Nastasic being regarded as an outstanding prospect at only 19 years of age. The young defender already has two caps for his country and is regarded as the long term replacement for Nemanja Vidic, who has recently retired from international football.
Roberto Mancini has been vociferous in his demands for his City squad to improve and will be pleased to secure the potential signing of Nastasic, having failed in high profile moves for Robin van Persie and Daniele De Rossi earlier this summer.
City continue their title defence on Saturday against Queens Park Rangers, in a rematch of the famous 3-2 victory on the last day of last season which brought them the trophy.
