Man City in hunt for N’Koulou

Manchester City are one of a number of teams chasing Marseille defender Nicolas N’Koulou, the Daily Mail has reported. Providing competition for Roberto Mancini are the likes of Milan, Barcelona and City’s Premier League rivals Arsenal. City have yet to make a signing this summer.

N’Koulou only joined Marseille a year ago, moving from Monaco, but has impressed clubs across Europe with his performances in that time. Capable of playing anywhere in the back four or even as a defensive midfielder, N’Koulou is also admired for his versatility.

A Cameroon international with more than 20 caps to his name, the 22-year-old began his senior career with Monaco before switching to Marseille. N’Koulou made more than 70 Ligue 1 appearances for the side from the principality before his 2011 move, and last season featured 30 times in the league for Marseille, helping the side win the French League Cup as well.
