Manchester United could be about to see one of their summer transfer targets slip through their grasp as Brazil international Lucas Moura edges closer to a move to Serie A side Inter, ESPN has reported. Real Madrid have also been linked with a move for the midfielder.
Reports from Italy claim Inter have agreed a transfer fee with Moura’s club Sao Paulo after Sir Alex Ferguson baulked at paying around €40m for the 19-year-old. Inter are not expected to pay that much either, apparently agreeing a deal with Sao Paulo that would see Moura move for €27m up front, possibly rising to €32m with bonuses and add-ons.
On Thursday it was confirmed by Inter president Massimo Moratti that the club’s director Marco Branca was in talks with Sao Paulo over a fee for Moura. Moura is currently in London with the Brazil Olympic squad, who play Honduras in the tournament’s quarter-finals on Saturday.
