Liverpool midfielder Charlie Adam could be on the move before the transfer window closes on Friday night as Stoke City have made a £5m offer for the former Blackpool player, the BBC
Reds manager Brendan Rodgers has indicated the Scotland international is surplus to requirements at Anfield but Adam would prefer to stay and prove his worth to the ex-Swansea City boss. Liverpool, however, are eager to sell to help fund a move for Fulham forward Clint Dempsey.
Adam has only been a Liverpool player for slightly over a year after former manager Kenny Dalglish paid Blackpool £9m for the midfielder’s services. Last season Adam made 37 appearances for the club, scoring twice.
Both Rodgers and Pulis have refused to be drawn on the matter, with Rodgers admitting only that there is interest in number of Liverpool players, while his Stoke counterpart said after the weekend’s 0-0 draw with Arsenal that he is looking to add to his squad, but did not name names.
