Tottenham and Chelsea in the hunt for Remy

London clubs Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea have both made approaches for £15m rated France international Loic Remy from Marseille.

The Daily Express claims that both clubs have been attracted by Remy’s relatively cheap price due to Marseille’s current financial insecurity. Both Spurs and Chelsea are currently light in the striking department and with the likes of Hulk and Edinson Cavani proving too expensive, Remy is seen as an excellent alternative.

Remy, who has four goals in 17 appearances for France but was forced to miss Euro 2012 due to injury, has been a long time target of Tottenham and particularly their previous manager Harry Redknapp. It appears that Andre Villas-Boas has continued the chase as he looks to reshape his squad before the transfer window closes tomorrow night.

Tottenham have already signed Emmanuel Adebayor this summer while Chelsea have made a number of attacking purchases, but they have come mostly in midfield.
