Llorente, a member of Spain’s victorious Euro 2012 squad, has been the subject of transfer talk for several big clubs this summer after he announced he would not be extending his contract at Bilbao, which currently expires next summer.
Juventus had been seen as the frontrunners for Llorente’s signature but it appears that Tottenham have now entered the chase. New manager Andre Villas-Boas is eager to strengthen his squad and in particular up front, where Spurs currently only have Emmanuel Adebayor and Jermain Defoe as well as rookie Harry Kane to choose from.
