Tottenham turn to Dembele and Lloris after selling Modric

Tottenham Hotspur have had an offer accepted for Lyon and France goalkeeper Hugo Lloris and will up their interest in Fulham midfielder Moussa Dembele, with the funds to sign both players coming from the sale of Luka Modric to Real Madrid, the Guardian has reported.

The fee for Lloris is said to be £13m, slightly more than the first bid Spurs made earlier this summer. Having seen one offer rejected for Lloris Tottenham Head Coach Andre Villas-Boas turned his attention elsewhere, particularly Inter goalkeeper Julio Cesar, but now appears close to landing his first-choice target in that position.

Dembele, meanwhile, is not thought to be Villas-Boas’ first-choice replacement for Modric but after being priced out of the market for Joao Moutinho, Villas-Boas has turned to the Belgium international. The Cottagers are reluctant to sell, however, and the Guardian claim it would take an offer of around £15m to change the mind of the club.
