West Ham could offer Andy Carroll a staggering £36m contract spread over eight years as they up their bid to sign the England striker from Liverpool.
According to the Daily
It remains to be seen what will happen with Carroll after a summer of transfer speculation haunts his already shaky time at Anfield, the striker failing to make an impression after his £35m move from Newcastle 18 months ago – scoring just 6 goals in 42 Premier League games.
It is thought that Liverpool were happy to loan the 23-year-old out for this season but Carroll himself is holding out for a return to Newcastle rather than a move south, should he have to play his football elsewhere in the next campaign. Brendan Rodgers has included the centre-forward in his initial 25-man squad list.
