Willian desperate for Tottenham move

For the second time this summer Willian has pleaded with Shakhtar Donetsk to let him go. The Daily Mail reports that following a £20m bid from Tottenham, the Brazilian midfielder has expressed his desire to leave the club to pursue a career in the Premier League – just a few weeks after doing the same following a rejected offer from Chelsea.

The 24-year-old said: “I have a proposal, but it is complicated because the board. Here are many players in the same position. They buy and do not you go. That’s the problem. Everyone knows that I want out, I’m here for five years, won many titles, so I hope you respect my will. I do not regret coming here, but this situation has been happening, with Chelsea trying to get me in January and now Tottenham, we start to rethink.”

Willian signed for the Ukrainian side in 2007 from Corinthians and has gone on to feature 188 times scoring 28 goals. In his time at the club he has featured predominately as a winger but he also has the capabilities to feature as an attacking midfielder.

The Brazilian has been very vocal about his desire to play in London, but so far Shakhtar have refused every bid for their star player. It remains to be seen if he will get his move this summer, especially since Chelsea have already cooled their interest having opted for Oscar instead.
