Bacary Sagna could be set for a move to Italy with Inter if he cannot agree a new contract to stay at Arsenal, the
The Mirror adds that Arsenal, and manager Arsene Wenger in particular, expect Sagna to sign a long-term extension to the current deal that runs out in 2014. However, the France international has recently voiced concerns over the Gunners’ transfer policy and, the newspaper continues, if he hesitates over putting pen to paper, Inter will make their move.
Sagna is currently recovering from a broken leg, his second in a year, and has not played since suffering the injury during Arsenal’s 3-3 draw with Norwich City in May. The 29-year-old broke his fibula against the Canaries, only seven months after enduring a similar injury against Tottenham Hotspur.
In Sagna’s absence Carl Jenkinson has solidified his place in the team, impressing many observers with his form at the start of the season in a back four that has conceded only two league goals in their opening five games.
