The disclosure comes as the two sides are drawn to play each other in the group stage of the Europa League, with Tottenham hosting Lazio at White Hart Lane on Thursday in Group J. The rest of the group includes Greek side Panathinaikos and Slovenian outfit Maribor.
Klose claimed Tottenham made an approach to sign him during the summer transfer window but he chose to see out the final two years of his Lazio contract, having moved to the Rome club in 2011.
Previously, Klose played for Bayern Munich, where he scored 52 goals in 149 games. The 34-year-old has kept up his scoring streak in Italy, netting 19 in 38 games, including three goals in three appearances so far this season. Klose also has 64 goals from 123 international caps for Germany.
