Man Utd told the price for Italy international Ogbonna

Manchester United will have to fork out almost £20m to land Italy international defender Angelo Ogbonna from Torino, the Daily Mail has reported.

Torino’s sporting director, Gianluca Petrachi, claimed scouts from United were among the many visitors to the club’s matches, adding that they are all there to watch Ogbonna in action. Petrachi added that the club has already rejected offers of £10m for the 24-year-old, insisting that he is worth more than £16m.

Ogbonna, a member of Italy’s Euro 2012 squad with a handful of international caps to his name, was part of the side that helped Torino to promotion to Serie A last season, with Il Toro reaching the top flight automatically after finishing second in Serie B to Pescara.

The two sides ended the campaign level on points but Pescara, coached by the legendary figure of Zdenek Zeman, had a better goal difference – they scored 90 goals to Torino’s 57, in 42 games.
