Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini has confessed his unhappiness with his side’s poor defensive displays so far this season. City have yet to keep a clean sheet in any of their games so far and in midweek conceded two goals in the last five minutes against Real Madrid to crash to defeat in their opening Champions League game despite having led 2-1.

“We have started so-so,” said Mancini. “[Because of the European Championship] we did not have enough time with them in pre-season and because of the internatioanls we have not had enough time with them once the season started. Joleon, like a lot of players, started his pre-season very late. We have played six games and I wanted to ensure that each player played two or three matches.”
City take on Arsenal at the Etihad Stadium in a crunch league encounter on Sunday afternoon with both teams coming into the fixture sporting unbeaten league records so far.
