Following the release of Arsenal’s financial figures last week, which showcased some impressive profit margins, it has been reported that the Gunners’ chief executive Ivan Gazidis saw his earnings rise considerably last season.
Gazidis took his position at Arsenal in January 2009 having previously been employed by Major League Soccer in the United States. Born in South Africa, Gazidis grew up in Manchester and moved to the United States in the early 1990s.
The news may anger some Arsenal fans who have seen their club hamstrung by the losses of star players Samir Nasri, Cesc Fabregas and latterly Robin van Persie in recent years.
