Tottenham are interested in signing Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder Patrick Herrmann after the 21 year old made an impressive start to the season, Talksport
Spurs boss Andre Villas-Boas is continuing to revamp the squad at White Hart Lane and sees Herrmann as one of his acquisitions in January. Following the loss of Marco Reus to Borussia Dortmund this summer, the 21 year old has taken the mantle of star man at Monchengladbach, but could be looking for a move to England. Herrmann has represented Germany at every youth level and Monchengladbach manager Lucien Favre has high praise for his midfield man.
Favre said: “Without him, we have a different balance between our defence and our attack. Patrick has been one of the best attacking players in the league and he has been involved in nearly all of our goals.”
Herrmann is naturally better as a wide player, but is more than capable of playing in central midfield. The 21 year old has made 70 appearances and scored 11 goals for Monchengladbach and Villas-Boas is desperate to sign Herrmann, having missed out on targets in the summer transfer window. Spurs are willing to pay £7.5m for Herrmann, but will face stiff competition from Inter Milan.
