Buttner reveals delight at start to life at Manchester United

Alexander Buttner has spoken of his happiness since his summer transfer to Manchester United.

The left-back was brought in from Dutch side Vitesse Arnhem primarily as cover for Patrice Evra although eventually with the aim of challenging the 31-year-old for his first-team place.

Indeed, since scoring on his debut against Wigan Athletic at Old Trafford, Buttner has gone on to make further encouraging appearances and according to Sky Sports, the player himself believes his good start is down to the quality of players at the club.

I have played more than I had expected,” said the Dutchman. “New players tend to be gradually brought into the team at United.

It is great to be on the training ground with such fantastic players. It really improves you as a player.

Thanks to the goals of fellow Dutchman Robin van Persie as well as Javier Hernandez, Sir Alex Ferguson’s men have improved to take top spot in the Premier League ahead of their trip to Norwich, two points ahead of local rivals and defending champions Manchester City.
