Former Arsenal star Robert Pires has suggested that former teammate Ashley Cole could become interested in a move to the newly rich Paris St. Germain.
Cole is currently in negotiations over a new contract with the London club, with his present deal finishing at the end of the season, and Pires told Le
“The project of PSG attracts him. I know him well, I’m sure that he is interested. PSG will become one of the biggest clubs in Europe in the coming years, they are trying to get something strong, and he knows it can encourage him to come. There will be a great team and financially it can make a big deal.”
It has been reported in the media that Cole, 31, has already had initial discussions with PSG Coach Carlo Ancelotti over a possible move across the channel, a move that would put Cole alongside such players as Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Jeremy Menez, Thiago Motta, Javier Pastore, Thiago Silva, Ezequiel Lavezzi, and former Blues teammate Alex in defence.
Cole will miss England’s midweek friendly international against Sweden with a hamstring injury.
