Germany international Lewis Holtby has admitted he is interested in the prospect of playing in the Premier League, the BBC
Holtby has revealed in the past that he would welcome the chance to play at Arsenal and recently told the German Press that he would take the upcoming winter break in the Bundesliga to consider his options. The 22-year-old told Der Westen: “It will be a decision of the heart. I won’t play around with the club. The opportunities are there. My agent has received offers. I’m waiting to make a decision.”
The Bundesliga enters a five-week break from December 16, with the January transfer window commencing on January 1. Holtby is currently a Schalke player and twice met the Gunners in the Champions League, winning at the Emirates Stadium and drawing the return match in Gelsenkirchen.
Holtby was eligible to play international football for England by virtue of his English father, but entered the German system at a young age. Holtby’s father is an Everton supporter, although it is unknown if the Toffees are interested in a move for the player.
