The Reds have not lost any of their last six games and came from a goal down to draw with Champions League winners Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Sunday, Luis Suarez in the second-half cancelling out John Terry’s first-half opening goal. Liverpool also came close to snatching victory in west London, but Johnson admits he was still satisfied with a point.
He said: “Of course we want to be winning games, but it was a good point for us. Everyone can see we are starting to improve and if we keep playing well, I’m sure the results will come our way.”
Liverpool last lost in the league 2-1 to Manchester United at home in late September, a run that has seen four draws – against Stoke City, Everton and Newcastle United as well as Chelsea – and wins over Reading and Norwich City.
Rodgers has also overseen a League Cup victory over West Bromwich Albion in that time, although Liverpool were knocked out in the next round by Rodgers’ former employers Swansea City, while the Europa League has brought a win and a loss against Anzhi Makhachkala and a defeat to Udinese.
